Focus: Cultivating a culture of electoral participation and ethical voting from the grassroots level.
Goal
The primary goal of the ELC is to build a nation of informed and ethical electoral participants. It sensitizes students about the value of their vote and the importance of the electoral process in a democratic setup.
Aims
- Democratizing Information: Provide easy access to electoral information.
- Promoting Inclusion: Ensure every student understands their voice matters.
- Ethical Foundations: Promote “No voter to be left behind” and strong democracy.
- Skill Development: Encourage critical thinking about policies and leadership.
Learning Objectives
By participating in the ELC, students will be able to:
- Understand the Registration Process: Learn voter registration and NVSP usage.
- Master the Voting Mechanism: Understand EVM and VVPAT functioning.
- Analyze Electoral Ethics: Identify misinformation and unethical practices.
- Simulate Democratic Exercises: Participate in mock polls and role-based activities.
- Communicate Civic Duty: Encourage community participation in elections.
